Roles and the pipeline
What a role page shows, what each pipeline stage from Sourced to Offer counts, and what Open, On hold and Filled mean for a role.
A role is one job you're hiring for, from first search to offer. Its page brings everything for that job together: the pipeline, the brief the agent works from, searches, calls, and shortcuts to applicants, outreach and the AI screen. Open a role from Open roles in the sidebar, from Open roles on Home, or with Quick find (Cmd+K or Ctrl+K).
The pipeline stages
Every role counts how many people are at each of six stages, in hiring order:
| Stage | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Sourced | People found for the role |
| Contacted | People who have been sent outreach |
| Replied | People who wrote back |
| Screened | People who have been through a first-round screen |
| Interviewing | People in interviews with the team |
| Offer | People who have an offer |
Home shows the same six numbers for every role, so you can see at a glance where each one stands. The bars are scaled so the small, late stages stay visible, so compare the numbers rather than the bar lengths. To find where people drop out, see Measuring your hiring funnel.
What's on a role page
- The header: the title, a one-line summary, the status, how the team works (Onsite, Hybrid or Remote), the location and the team.
- Pipeline: the six stage counts.
- Working brief: the plain-language brief the agent sources and screens against.
- Searches: every search for the role, with how many people are shortlisted and the fit strip of the best current match.
- Conversations: recorded calls for the role.
- People: the hiring manager and the recruiter.
- Details: the salary range, the headcount and when the role opened.
- Work on this role: shortcuts to Review applicants, the role's outreach sequence and its AI screen.
- Coming up: calls for the role on the calendar.
Start a search from the brief
Choose Search from this brief at the top of the role page. Emoti turns the working brief into criteria, attaches the search to the role and opens the matches in Sourcing. The search then appears under Searches on the role page. A sharper brief gives better matches; see Describe who you're looking for.
Open, On hold and Filled
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Open | You're hiring. The role is listed under Open roles in the sidebar with a filled marker. |
| On hold | Hiring is paused. The role stays in the sidebar with an outlined marker and is marked On hold on Home. |
| Filled | The role is filled. It leaves the sidebar and isn't offered when you create an AI screen. |
When you create an outreach sequence, roles on hold are labelled "on hold" in the list. If you connect an applicant tracking system, Emoti keeps roles, candidates and stages in step with it; see Calendars, video, ATS and Slack.
