Notes, highlights, transcripts and Ask
What's on a conversation page, from the AI note and In short summary to highlights, the transcript and talk map, and how to use Ask and rewrite, translate or edit a note.
Every recorded call becomes a conversation in Conversations. Search the list, or press Cmd+K or Ctrl+K and type a name. A conversation page has three tabs, Notes, Highlights and Transcript, with Ask about this call and details about the call beside them.
The note and In short
In short sits at the top of the Notes tab: a few bullets with the main points of the call. Below it, the note is written in sections that follow the call's template.
- Notes are written from the call and the files listed under Sources, such as the candidate's CV, the job description or a scorecard. If the call didn't cover a section, the note says so instead of guessing.
- The times after From the call, under a section, jump to the moments that section draws on.
Highlights
The Highlights tab lists the moments worth a second look. Each has a kind, a title, a short quote and the time it was said. Select the time to jump to that point in the transcript.
- Strength: evidence the person fits the role.
- Concern: a gap or a claim to probe in a later round.
- Question: something the candidate asked.
- Logistics: practical details such as pay expectations, timing, office days or other interviews.
- Motivation: why they're looking, or what makes the role appealing.
The transcript and the shape of the call
The transcript shows every turn with its time and who spoke. Use Search the transcript to find a word: Emoti shows how many matches there are and fades the rest.
Under Shape of the call:
- The talk map shows each person's turns across the call. Select any part to jump there.
- The talk ratio shows how much of the call your team spoke and how much the candidate did.
- Questions from the team counts your side's questions, and Longest turn shows the longest anyone spoke in one go, and who.
Ask about this call
Type a question in Ask about this call and press Enter, or pick one of the suggestions, which change with the kind of call. Ask reads the transcript and answers with short quotes and time links, like [12:34], that jump to the moment.
- If the call didn't cover your question, Ask says so and suggests what to ask next time.
- Answers are marked Answered by Emoti, or Matched from the transcript by Emoti's built-in rules when no AI model is set up.
- To ask the same question across many calls at once, use Insights.
Rewrite, translate or edit a section
Hover over a section to see its tools. On a small screen they're always shown.
- Make shorter trims it, keeping the facts that matter for a hiring decision.
- More detail expands it using only what was said in the call.
- Bullets rewrites it as one fact per line.
- Translate rewrites the section in Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese or Korean, keeping names and numbers.
- Edit lets you change the text yourself. Start a line with a dash and a space for a bullet; other lines become paragraphs, which is how you turn bullets back into prose. Choose Save section when you're done.
- Copy copies the section. Copy notes, above the note, copies all of it for your ATS or an email.
How AI-written text is marked
- The In short summary is marked Written by Emoti.
- A section that's been changed, by hand or with a rewrite, shows Edited. Choose Restore what Emoti wrote to go back.
- Every Ask answer says who answered it.
